Questions

Is my data really private?

Yes. Your prompts are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database. They are never processed or stored on our servers. Optional cloud sync stores your prompts in your own Supabase-backed account — still encrypted, still yours. Your API keys are stored in Android's hardware Keystore and are never transmitted anywhere.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Local data is removed with the app. If you've enabled cloud sync, your prompts are safely backed up and will be restored automatically on reinstall. We also recommend exporting a JSON backup before uninstalling.

Does the Chrome Extension cost extra?

No. The Chrome Extension is completely free and syncs automatically with your mobile vault when you log in with the same account. Premium features (unlimited prompts, team vaults) unlock in the Extension once you've purchased in the app.

Do I need my own API key?

Yes. Prompt Secure uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. You connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key. This means you pay AI providers directly at their rates — we never handle your API calls or add markup to usage costs.

Can I use it without an internet connection?

Yes. The vault, search, templates, and all organizational features work fully offline. AI features require an internet connection to reach OpenAI or Anthropic APIs. Cloud sync happens automatically when you're back online.
